Registration Information
The EXCEL Summer Academy 2025 will be held two separate weeks in June. Both sessions are identical and provide families with a choice that fits best with their schedules. You must apply for a specific week using the associated link below. After applications are submitted, campers will be contacted to schedule virtual interviews.
Admissions will be completed on a rolling basis until the camp is full. Once full, a waiting list will be available. We appreciate your interest in the EXCEL Summer Academy and hope you join us this year!

The deadline for applications is May 31. However, applications are reviewed on a first-come first-serve basis.
Cost
The EXCEL Summer Academy costs $600 per participant. Please email excel@gatech.edu with any questions.
Overview
The EXCEL Summer Academy (ESA) is an opportunity for prospective students to experience a week in the life of an EXCEL student. During the week, campers will get the opportunity to take part in activities that will provide them with a better understanding of what college is like.
Activities include:
- Campus-wide Scavenger Hunt
- Improv with Autism Improvised
- Career Panel with former and current EXCEL students
- Social Life in College: Introduction to Clubs and On-Campus Activities
- Design Thinking Exercises
- Health and Wellness with Georgia Tech's Nutritionists
- Cooking Sessions
- Team Building Activities
- Campus Recreation Tour
- Exploring Atlanta (previous camps have gone to the Atlanta Zoo, World of Coke, Georgia Aquarium, or Civil Rights Museum)
- Georgia Tech Athletics
- Georgia Tech Spirit and Traditions with the Ramblin' Reck Club
- And much more....
The ESA is a week-long day camp focused on rising high school juniors, seniors, or recent graduates with I/DD. The ESA also offers an opportunity for campers to meet current EXCEL students, mentors, staff, and potential classmates. In addition, the ESA allows staff to get to know the campers better, which may take some pressure off the interview and application process.
Whether you’re still in high school or already accepted to start in the fall, the camp allows students to get more comfortable with campus, build relationships, and experience what EXCEL would provide them as full-time students.
